Finally I got some time for Dune's wonderful River Preset.

Jo Kariboo

Pretty light. This type of lighting reminds me "la nuit américaine" lighting technique used in cinema.  :)

Dune

Indeed, a bit like a film noir kind of mood.

Ummm... So where can I get this "river preset" thingy?
"This year - a factory of semiconductors. Next year - a factory of whole conductors!"

Lighting darn near perfect reflecting on the sand. Good one!

DocCharly65

Very nice light!
Like in an oil painting.

Thanks for the comments about the lighting. I kept this part, but gave the trees a little more translucency and added Ulco's Base Grass.
C&C welcome.

Dune

C&C: the grass pop is differently colored than the procedural ground. You could try giving it the ground color through a transform shader (world), with default shader color at 1.5 or so. Or just lighten up its default shaders. Or darken the far grass coverage. Or make a more gradual pop mask by distance shader.

I realize there are complex shaders in this file, but sometimes you can match up things but just adding one color to custom colors in your color wheel and then choosing that again for other selections. I realize lighting, density, and other factors play in this, but it is worth a shot.
Nice render as well!

I did a little bit of everything. ;) I think it worked out nicely.

I think the scene overall looks great, but I remain confused by the very dark, cloudy sky and overall lighting, combined with the lovely specular reflections on the river, implying sunlight... Odd, no?

I was a little confused about that either. I have only one Sunlight and one Enviro light in my nodes. But since I liked the effect, I didn't think too much about it.  ;)

Very nice improvements in V4 - Good work! :)
