Finally treated myself to a license of Terragen 4 over the holidays and thought I'd share an image realized in part with the Terragen 4 beta from last summer. It's a conceptual shot for a speculative BMW piece I conceived awhile back with original architectural design from my former NAU partner Tino Schaedler.  Created the background plate and  spherical HDR in the TGD4 beta, and rendered in 3ds Max / V-Ray. Apart from a bounce card for a little fill, the only lighting is from that Terragen HDR. Used easy clouds too, though took me awhile to hit the qualities I was looking for and didn't find the time to do more with the terrain before the beta expired. Much more satisfied and happy working with Terragen4 than E-on's Ozone Factory.

Oshyan

Very nice final result. You have combined the various elements and programs very well!

Agree with Oshyan but, and there's often a but, the wheels have motion blur but there's no driver?

The driver is keeping a low profile as he just jacked the car.  ::)

El Kabong

That's a really odd looking motor-home...  :o   How's it handle in the corners? heh

Maybe a bit of motion blur on the background structure to help separate it from the vehicle?

It's 2017: you haven't heard of driverless cars:) Just kidding, I did actually have a driver in there, but it was a distraction and didn't look good for a slew of reasons. As I'd spent too long on this piece already - had to shift to other projects - and it's intended more as a conceptual still for this speculative spot, I decided to just remove the driver for now. There's a handful of other issues too, El Kabong noted another one in that while there is proper physical rendered motion blur on the car and house (note the left to right blur falloff along the house edge) it doesn't feel right & needs more work in compositing...

Thanks for all the comments! Look forward to using Terragen in more work and hopefully revisiting this with some motion shots...
