.....I did this to relieve my brain. essentially to test that new grass I posted in File Sharing but as always I got carried away

I like it Bobby.
I would just work a little more on the ground and grass.

Indeed I meant to adjust the disp and size on the ground but forgot till I saw  the render. That grass is in File Sharing and it's a good one I think, just popped up in my inbox this morning.

Nice new stuff. But is that orange color an image or hsv? If it is a color, gimmee gimmee. Love that with the yellow flower. Good contrast.
Your lighting and atmo here are great!

That's the free dandilion from XFROG, and sorry I am a functional colourblind artist. where it the orange colour? I just tweak till it looks good to me and if I make a major boo boo like a brown golf green some one always sets me straight.

This really has potential if you make the ground more realistic (I mean grasses and stones, path perhaps....) and perhaps add one of your houses (or cars) in the distance, so there's a 'focal point'.

Thanks Ulco. I got an over-nighter cooking(Detail .6 AA 12) of this view but tweaked a fair bit. The Nobel Tree in the foreground comes with displacement so I duplicated it and did the 0 colour trick on both. I added more disp. to the ground and reduced the scale of the Camouflage clip I used, increased the variety in size of the grass clumps and varied the colour...But I was holding back on man made...I'll tell 'em you made me do it for the  next iteration, heh heh heh. The next one will be a wider shot I think.
This is a blown out lower res version of the one I'm rendering but with the tree displaced a bit, that got decided when I knew I had to render again

Dune

Needn't be manmade, but just something that would be the 'subject', if you get my point. Perhaps a ruin would do nicely, manmade, but taken over by nature again (I love those!).

Actually a Greek style ruin came to mind and I think I made a bunch in Imagine3d, crosses fingers...The point is the problem heh heh as this started as a test of the new free grass object I posted in File Sharing..... and just plain got out of hand.

This is a very promising image with a great moody feel.  The grass feels to big to me, perhaps make it smaller and denser?

I had it smaller but ti wasn't working so I settled on a mid size. It's a fairly crude model up close so this series is the kast I'll use it close up, maybe middle distance for variety. I'm just about to post the final of this...try and imagine the grass smaller, heh heh heh

well this is the last of this series, inspected the grass up close and found it most unsatisfactory for anything but middle distance variety...

Would look even nicer with a river winding through it.

Yup...Dune mentioned something along that line. Disappointed in the new grass model which was the original point of this render so I may well re do it but with different grasses as I really like all the other foliage and the basic scene.

my 6500th post...who knew I'd be so verbose.

It's worth some good grass... try mine  ;) Rest is very nice. Perhaps one or two boulders...
