Hard to believe this little spat started over such a small, irrelevant thing.

On the subject of the actual thread, I can tell you that as administrator of the forum, and as general Planetside policy for now, we're not in favor of "pruning" forums, i.e. removing "no longer used" threads, or old discussions, dead links, etc. Not only does it incur additional moderation overhead, but it's also often hard to determine what is genuinely useful and what's not. Better to leave it all in place and let the search functions allow you to find any information you need.
We'll remove objectionable content but other than that we're unlikely to delete anything.
