this might be the cheap way for getting the cracks on terrain without getting into functions....

this is nothing but Volker's tutorial, the only difference is I have stretched the noise in one direction and applied displacement to that shader

I am still working on getting consistent cracks...

I will post the tgd after I start getting acceptable results or if I fail to get acceptable results and break my keyboard and throw away my mouse in some corner of the room.... :D

For that purpose, I would use one fractal and go for the colour offset (clamp high and low colour).
Nice result that far.
