Hiding email address
« on: September 29, 2007, 04:07:02 AM »
Could someone please tell me how to hide my email address in the forum? I tried checking "hide email address from public" but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for checking, when I hover over the little envelope underneath "number of posts", it shows my email address, I thought it wasn't hidden.

It shows it to you because, as the owner of the account, you have pretty much all permissions on your own account (including seeing the email address). It's a little counter-intuitive, but rest assured that if you turn on "hide email address" it will be hidden from others, registered users and guests alike.

I had the same problem when I signed up, but I soon realised that my email address was safe. I think that a brief note about the problem should be stuck somewhere obvious.
