I'd like to see who uses GI Surface Details to help me understand the look that each of us generates when creating a render.  Since GI Surface Details uses up a lot of render time, this poll might help to see how important or how unimportant this setting is treated by Planetside's population.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I never do...I think its mostly useful for close up shots of something....

Hopefully anyone who answered "always" will listen to reason and *stop doing that*. It's off by default for a reason. ;D

It really only makes a difference in certain kinds of scenes, mostly close-up, and the difference is often not that dramatic. Meanwhile it *really* slows down render time. In most cases it's just not worth it.

I'm surprised at the variety in the poll.  Anyway, I'm interested in reasons why people use it or just don't use it.  Please feel free to offer your understanding.

Oshyan, thanks.  It's useful to hear this again, though you've said it numerous times.  I personally like the look when I use it, though my reasoning isn't very scientific.   ::)
