Convert power fractal color to grayscale... how?

Anyone know how to take a power fractal with arbitrary colors, and convert it to grayscale via functions?

I know if I post something, I'll figure it out seconds later, even if it means I've spend significant time researching beforehand.  Same applies when I research something to buy thats usually expensive - I find something 10X soon after I buy the thing,  LOL.

Anyway, here is what I found which seems to work so far.  (any other ideas, please post).

So this color is being changed by the final node to grayscale?  This sounds intriguing.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

The node "Luminance to scalar" does what you want I think.
