Hi,
these are two views of a scene using the sineWave.tgc posted by sboerner here: Basic sine wave displacement
Very useful in lots of scenarios.
This is the basic terrain from my default scene combined with the tgc via a Surface Layer Shader node.
I added a Fractal Warp Shader to the tgc. The nice thing is that the vertical shapes of the "waves" are smooth rock surfaces.
Unlike the clipped surfaces you`ll often have to fight when using masks and displacements.
