Seperate Cards from Mesh

Anyone know a way to do this simply in Blender? Wanted some winter variants of some trees but I'm not sure how to select just cards from a mesh without selecting every card manually.

Seems best option is using the split mesh option and do it by "Material" which for vegetation is usually pretty defining for the parts needed.
