Chainmail isn't too bad for just a texure and bumpmap, if I say so myself. I wanted to make one without the leather rim, but the edge won't work okay then.

Have you used DAZ? The basics are there. But I do a lot of extra shading in TG, with mixes of fractals, etc. to get the skin more realistic. But I also have to admit that the clothing (Marvelous Designer) are a big part of their reality.
