It would take a lot to make this work and I'm not entirely convinced it's worth it! BUT at least I've learnt to use DOF!

Well, at least it gives a great sense of depth and space. But I actually meant keeping the water and horses in view, while having the camera just across the water between the grasses, at maybe a half meter higher or so, having some of the veggies in the lower end. Like here.

Now this variant I really like. Some may feel it's too dark but for me that gives it a kind of lurking menace.

Yes indeed. Now you more feel 'with the horses' instead of hovering over them.
