Looking for something as simple as possible, experimenting with lighting and composition.

The desert is a slightly modified version of the excellent work done by wiwini here ... Dunes and Sandwaves

The pyramid of Khufu is the largest of the three main pyramids at Giza (and the one that I had the best model of lol)

I love anything Egyptian, so digging it. :D I've tried pyramids a lot, but never liked the outcomes. This looks really nice as an old pyramid. Even little tunnel access on the side. :)

I do really love that dune system, I forgot about it. Totally forgot about it. You know, if you add Soft Minimum Clamps to the end of all the dune core functions, you can get soft dune tops.

The lighting is beautiful!

Hannes

Very nice and calm. Love it.

Looks great.

Who knew the Nephilim were setting up franchises on Arrakis?

DocCharly65

Beautiful dune system, light... Very beautiful!

Thanks guys :)

 Haha lolz

"You know, if you add Soft Minimum Clamps to the end of all the dune core functions, you can get soft dune tops."
That sounds cool. There's a 0/1 switch in the P (profile) node that allows you to switch between sharp and soft dune crests but there is no half way, it's either/or. What are you feeding into the second and third inputs on the Soft Minimum Clamps node?
I did get a similar result by simply merging (merge node) two dune groups (one with soft and one with sharp crests, but it seemed a clumsy implementation.

I am rebuilt this function to include these features, I'll post it here soon. I think I am finished and now just putting together an example scene.

Simple but beautiful.

I shared that revamp function, also packaged up nicely here: https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,29627.0.html
