Hi! I'm making a rather ambitious video about Terragen Classic, and Matt will hate me for it probably... ;D
It will be many 4k animatons with voiceover...
I want to make sure I pronounce certain words correctly, since I'm Dutch.

I think it's Terra "chen" and not "Ken".
And I think it's "Terrah" and not "Terruh"... Correct?

And I want to name the creator Matt Fairclough before I mention the program. Is it Fair "cloth" or "clow" or "clo"  ;D

I'll also be mentioning Sean O'Malley. NOT the martial arts figther, but the creator of the SO plugins and Campath back in the day.

Thanks for the help!  ;D

Hi Michiel,

Don't worry about me, I look forward to seeing it :)

"Gen" is from the English word "generate", so in IPA it's d͡ʒɛn. "Terra" will probably sound right however you want to pronounce it.

I'm from England where most people pronounce "clough" like "kluff". The "u" varies from North to South but that's not important. Since I moved to America I've heard "clo" and "clow/clao", but that's understandable because English has lots of words spelled "-ough" that have different pronunciations and it's hard to predict which one it should be if you don't know the word. English is messed up!

These are both pretty close: https://www.howtopronounce.com/clough and https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/File:En-us-clough.oga except the "ou" doesn't sound quite right to me because from I'm from the North of England.

Now, that's interesting, Matt, since I too thought, the "clough" in your name would be pronounced like "clo". So, actually was it "kluff", when you were in school in England for example?

This is soooo cool!! You showed the unique look of TG Classic very well! A pleasure to watch. :)

This is a great video! I love it! Never got to really use Terragen Classic, but this gives me nostalgia from TV and film.

Thanks guys :)

I tried to make clear that people should not try TG 0.9 but newer (TG) software instead. Hopefully that worked somehow :)
