The problem with this kind of commissions is that clients often has a romantic 'caspar-david-friedrich' kind of idea of what they envision , but they also want a realistic reconstruction based on historic data and accurate sizes. That never goes together. I offered to do a more dramatic image, with cliffs (8m, mind you) looming over the 'harbour', viewed upon by a dramatic armed tower, but accuracy went first. So to me the task to make it as appealing as possible....
