Hey all

I'm not sure if anyone has used the same method, I've never seen a post about it so I guess not, or its been to simple to post.

Two Known Issues: Displacement is waay to high, and therefore looks un-realistic
Water + the Displacements = errors lol

And of course: C&C Welcome

You should (or are you?) just use the planet shader, in my opinion.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

zionner

it is a planet surface shader (I guess i wasnt clear on this point)

What my Aim is, is to make a clip so the shader looks better at closer angles such as that

I'm not sure I quite understand what you are trying to achieve. Are you trying to add a powerfractal displacment in addition to the planet shader?

zionner

Yes, basicly

Just not as high displacement as that

What I want to create from it is a more detailed looking view from that angle, by using extra displacements

nvseal

So are you planning one using output from the planet shader to control the displacement distribution?

zionner

No, I'm trying to use Planet Shader for the Colour Distribution,

Then to use Displacements to create the..well..the Planets displacements heh

you got that right....:D

this one reminds me of the DVD cover of the documentary series "Planet Earth" by Discovery Channel....
"His blood-terragen level is 99.99%...he is definitely drunk on Terragen!"

Don't you want the colors and the displacement to coincide to some degree?

zionner

Well, That should be acheived by the options avalible in the Planet Shader Settings, where you set the setting for the colours, you just need to tweak it till it fits your displacement
