Another canyon I quicky threw together last night. This has been auto-leveled in paint.net cause I thought it generally looked better. Still some work to be done. I think the bushes were probably a mistake, along with some other things, but at least it makes a good profile picture.  ;D I also thought that it seemed to have interesting style/pov.

Beautiful work, really natural ! Landscape, surfaces, textures are successfull but the trees are too green for me !

Was this procedural or based off of a heightfield?  I feel that a few changes to the surfacing and better distribution/variation of the models would help this a lot.

Cool work NVSeal!
Like the composition on this one...really draws you into the river.
I agree about the texturing and with you about the plants.
Maybe a more uniform base of 3 colors (low contrasts) will work better and then touch it up with brighter and sharper contrasted colors on specific heights and slopes.
Just a suggestion/example.
I really like the displacements on the upper parts of the canyon.
Would you like to share a screenshot of the nodesetup of the terrain-nodes?
Thanks in advance :)

Love the terrain and texturing.  Pretty good water and, not to be overly critical since I know this takes time, but there could be less uniformity to the rapids.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

A good suggestion, that's probably what I'm going to try. The terrain is based on Bigben's Grand Canyon ter with more detail added in with various fractal displacements. I agree the plant colors are way to saturated, and that is what I was purposfully trying to avoid.  :P A well. Thanks for the comments. I'm going to see what I can do.

I think the water is too saturated....and are you using DEM of GC??
