Digital Elevation Map
February 20, 2008, 07:39:14 PM
I'm trying to create a picture of what a terraformed mars would look like, but first I need to get the elevation map right. How would I go about plugging the picture in so that the image would become the elevation for the entire planet

It depends on where you got your image and what projection it's in. If it's intended as a map of the Mars surface then most like Spherical Projection will work best.

If you're using Spherical Projection no additional camera is needed. Only Through Camera projection depends on a specific camera, which can be either your original/render camera, or another one.
