Subject says it all. These are NOT the actual clouds, these are merely the density fractals so I can see how it is working and make adjustments. There are some things that need fixing (for example, the longs wisp), but over all, I think it looks okay (still not the real thing though ;)). The good thing about this method is that it warps every cloud fractal so that every cloud type is warped in the same way no matter how many there are.

Geez.  How did you figure this out?  You must have been busy.

I do see some spots on it, though...little speckles.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Sethren

Neat. Could you make it bigger in scale like seen here.

Like is the effect along the upper and lower hemispheres.

dhavalmistry

besides some artifacts...it looks great!

Awesome clouds. I wonder how they look from the ground :P

That is the number one biggest problem I have been trying to fix.  ;D In fact, that is what I'm working on right now. Those artifacts are what happen when a cloud density fractal it used as a surface layer, or so I think  ;D.

Quick test render 1.

Edit: Number 2

Will

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Sethren

That is an excellent start.  :)  All i think what it needs now is larger gaps in between the bigger clouds and a slightly higher falloff from the hemispheres to the equator

old_blaggard

Quite nice.  I still feel like the warping is a little off, though.  You'll notice that in the satellite picture, larger systems tend to be warped more than smaller ones - it seems to be the other way around in your tests.  These still look great, though.  Not to be a nag, but I'll say again that there are lots of us here who would like to be able to take a peek at a clip or tgd file :).

Test number 4. old_baggard you are right about those smaller clouds and you can really see that come through in this render. The clouds being used in these test are not from my good cloud setup so I will be adding them later (although I might have to make it all from the gound up, again).

You'll get it. Just not yet. ;)

God, this is fun.  Thanks, nvseal for making TG2 seem even more interesting.  I love the divergence we see across board with this software.

I just set that sucker as my desktop background.

Now I'm inspired to do some planets.  Many thanks NVSeal.   8)

This is looking fantastic, NVSeal.  Are you still using your masking method with cloud images or is this procedural now?
