Animation packages

Does anyone have any preferred animation packages to transform a set of output bmp files into a flash or AVI file.  I'm currently using "Gif Movie Gear" which is OK except it loses a lot of the image quality when you import it.

I typically use Virtualdub - http://www.virtualdub.org/

It's free, works well and has more options than I've ever needed.

Yep, works for me too. Use it a lot, even for converting downloaded avi's sometimes...
