i just want to let everyone know about 'Death Tank', a video game coming to Xbox Live Arcade soon. 95% of the sky and clouds were created in Terragen TP2 and 5% with Dreamscape, a sky & clouds plugin for Max.
http://www.snowblindstudios.com/games.php?game=death_tanki couldnt have created the sky & clouds without Terragen. though the 3D volumetric cloud renderings were quite long (even on multi-CPU machines), the results were worth it. i looked at most of the sky & cloud solutions on the PC and Terragen is truly the best of the lot.
per environment, i would render a whole bunch of different clouds of the same type, alpha it out and arrange & animate them in the game in realtime. making this game was a lot of fun and working with Ezra Dreisbach (the developer) was awesome. i was the main artist in the game and also created most of the tanks (in Max), UI frame elements, various game icons, title graphics & skull, etc.
those of you who have an Xbox360, pls check it out when its released. the game is so much fun.
