Yup, saw that on Slashdot a while ago. It's too bad, but the rover had a good run.

thats why it's a good idea that NASA is developing those nuclear powered rovers

Phoenix wasn't a rover....the other 2 exploratory vehicles (Opportunity and Spirit) are still alive !

Not a gripe but @ $480 million the possibilities of freezing up should have been addressed a little more

Its a easy fix really, red_planet could you go stand in the sun for a little while?
