The
Terralights.de
Oaktree is ready for download and testing. It comes in two versions.
The difference between the two versions: The normal tree has 1252061 polygons the oaktree for populations 331154. There I have removed the polygons for the small branches, but not the leaves. Also the normal tree has roots:

I will try this for sure...you could use the hi-poly for near to the camera, and lo-poly for further away, using a distance shader...excellent!

Thanks for the very very nice Oak! I'm rendering a scene right now with the high quality one close up in the foreground and so far so good.
