all rendered in terragen 2 except for the starhawk which was rendered in Carrara 7

thnx nope it was an image mask to be honest i have no idea how to work the paint shader ???

the green beam by the way was an alpha plane i made in photoshop then imported into terragen 2 took a while to line it up right. then i added two source lights and one dim green sun to get the overall effect :)

Great! Are the particles also part of the alpha plane, or is it an imported object?

yup these where a separate image planet set in front of the vortex

Reminds me of Half-Life.  I'd love to see this in an animation...
