I have question concerning a recent oak tree creation/contribution of Klas, and it has to do with my wanting to add a needed element seen in many oaks, ...that is moss and mistletoe. Does anyone have any possible ideas on how to fractally generate or produce via a procedural workaround? this parasitic element of vegative reality upon the upper branches forming the crown of various trees?

I think that there is a free ivy generator out there somewhere, but I'm not such how well it would work with the model.

That will probably work just fine :)

TU and OB are you saying that it could be possible to alter the ivy leaf and vine structure to become a simulation of Moss and mistletoe?

Not Moss, but Mistletoe must certainly be possible using the ivygen. You'd only have to make different ivy's for just one model. So each clump of Mistletoe is a single ivy-model.
Like in this example:

Is this meant for close-up or for mid-ground/background trees?
For creating mosses you might easily get away with adding a powerfractal to the color and displacement input of the default shader of the bark. Be careful with displacement-values!

Yes TU I am looking for long to medium range visual effect for the oaks. I can see what you mean about the mistletoe being a distinct possibility, and IO will investigat the other procedural modification of the bark image maps. Thank you both for your prompt reply/assistance.
