Actually, it's a DEM of Antelope Point, Arizona. It's Scotland now! :D ;)
All TG, except the models, of course.

Car model found here... http://dmi.chez-alice.fr/models1.html
Helicopter from Turbosquid... http://www.turbosquid.com/3d
Trees are free Xfrog Grand firs.
Bushes supplied by Lightning.
Grass is an anonymous model picked up somewhere, don't know where, ages ago.

Thanks for looking! :)

moodflow

Nice overall scene.  I especially like the foreground gravel and rocks on the dirt road - looks pretty realistic!

Tangled-Universe

Cool work Martin! Awesome, really like it! Pretty realistic too :)
Only thing I'd suggest is to replace the bright bushes by some better ones and maybe to add some (extra) reflectivity to the car. The rest is just fine with me.

Martin

leafspring

Very nice scene indeed.
But I have to agree with tangled-universe about the bushes. They do look a little incongruous. (And I have currently the same problem with my XFrog trees^^)
Rest of the scene is flawless.  :)

Pretty dandy, DandelO!   :P

Now, the animation sequence...
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Seth

very good job, and i second T-U about the bushes ^^

schmeerlap

Excellent render; especially the texture on the dirt road. Decreasing the Diffuse Colour on the bushes should darken and desaturate them, and a redeployment of grass turfs to break up the appearance of mini rows that jars. But great overall composition.

Cheers.

The thing with the bushes is, they're meant to be yellow. There's a very common plant that grows in woodland/rocky areas, I don't know what it's called but it's the yellow things visible in this photo taken in my home town... http://www.fotothing.com/photos/4ef/4ef49262b92947e7b51294e3030646fd_c9f.jpg
You'll see in the fullsize photo that it really covers everything, the rock faces and grass, even on the vertical cliffs, it seems to grow anywhere.

That colour is a hard one to achieve. It gave me a real headache and I knew it would be the main picking point on this image. When I leaned towards the reddish-yellow it didn't work, even worse than this greenish-yellow I ended up with.

I might do something with it, cheers, guys! :)

old_blaggard

Nice scene :). I agree with most of what's been said above.

That's gorse, or furze as I think it's often called in the UK:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorse

It's a very spiky, thorny shrub which is a major pest here in NZ. It was introduced from the UK way back in the day to be used for hedges around fields, but NZ has ideal growing conditions for it and it took off and is everywhere. I was on a tourist train last summer and overseas visitors were commenting on how pretty the "yellow flowers" were, not realising it's such an invasive pest :-).

Jo

Hi again,

I should also say that it is a nice scene. If this was in NZ ( and it almost could be WRC in NZ too ) the gorse would be maybe twice as tall and probably completely cover the areas you have as grass etc. :-).

Regards,

Jo

Jo is a big fan of gorse ! ^^
we should all render gorse so he would come to visit us more often  ;D

Hmmm, when the page loads I can clearly see the letters L M A O before the smileys, but when load is complete, only *** remains... Why is that?
