J'aime particulièrement l'avant-plan! ça me souvient d'un marais. les pierres conviennent bien au rest de l'image.

I especially like the foreground, reminds me of a moor. The stones fit the rest of the image well.

Wow.  Very nice.  It seems like to me that the distant mountains should be more hazy.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Outstanding work! Very realistic view!  :o
Mouthwash? We don't need no stinking mouthwash!! [MI2]

I looked in vain on the forum, the utilsation of Dof me leave perplexed! I did not seize the assembly yet perfectly.
Moreover I have a remark to make, much people make interesting assemblies but they never announce exactly the connection of the nodes!
What is extremely regrettable!

I completely agree with you. Would be very interesting to see behind those pictures more. We're here to learn, after all. :)

I typed dof in the search box and found several references to the subject of Depth of Field. You'll find a link to an excellent tutorial by Tangled-Universe concerning "Dof" here:
http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=5712.msg59567#msg59567
I think your complaint about "people .... never announcing exactly the connection of the nodes", is unwarranted. I have found a tremendous amount of helpful commentary on how "people" build their renders, including screen captures of their node networks in both the Discussion forum and the File Sharing forum. Perhaps you are expecting "people" to accompany all their Image Sharing uploads with screen captures, or detailed descriptions of their node networks. As has been said before, the Image Sharing forum is not the place for detailed descriptions of how renders are built. If it is the case that you think they should, then you should practice what you preach, so to speak. Checking your 70-plus Image uploads, I find that none are accompanied with such "exact connection of the nodes". Perhaps that's because you feel you've never made any "interesting assemblies (of nodes)".
Do you have a saying in France similar to this: "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"?

Perhaps this link is better, same tutorial, but more extensive:

I like your image Joel. Looks very natural and the grasses look good. The render quality is a tad too low to my taste, but I think after applying a DOF it will already look much better.
I hope the tutorial is clear to you, if you need any help then please let me know.

no we don't.
the only idiom I know we have with stone is  : "Let the one without sin cast the first stone."
know what I mean ? ;D

It's more a proverb than an idiom. I thought my "stone" proverb was more relevant, though; that is Joel seemed to criticise people for not accompanying their Image Uploads with detailed descriptions of how they built their node networks, while at the same time he was happy to upload his Images without detailed descriptions of how he built his node networks. In other words he was expecting others to do something that he wasn't doing. So, he could be said to be throwing stones at other peoples glass houses while living in one himself.
So, strictly speaking I wasn't the first to start casting stones. Furthermore, we are all sinners, but from time to time we all feel the need to cast stones. This forum, for instance, would be a very dull place if the odd stone wasn't cast now and again. Take a quick perusal through it and you'll find many a stone cast. It's one of the ways we get things done, to get things put right. My stone was lobbed back at Joel as a way of saying; "before you criticize others for not doing something, make sure you do it yourself, first." And having said that, it now occurs to me that your "idiom" come proverb: "Let the one without sin . . . . . " can be equally applied to Joel.

hehe I understood very well before your explaination...
but Phyllo gives informations on everything if you ask him, and he doesn't give them when he posts his renders, firt because he really doesn't speak english, and second, because if you ask him, he has very low opinion about his work... but... well i can't speak for him...

rcallicotte

Phyllo, you're a very good artist and understand a lot about TG2.  Feel free to share what you like.  I understand a certain amount of prudence in not telling all...it might be too difficult to explain everything.  Anyway, let people ask questions first.  Like...about lighting.   ;D  LOL

But, pieces of your node network - hey, that's a good idea!  I'll try it, though it's likely I'm fitting into the same category as almost everyone here: same ol', same ol'....

So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?
