Ra what's causing the problems with the engine lights? The light sources are really pixelated for some reason.

Light sources will be ultra grainy, it is their nature right now.. only ramping the the quality to well beyond reasonable levels will correct this.

Render time was pretty low, about 10 hours on my old notebook (1280x640, 0.8 Quali)!
I guess it is the refelcting particles of the atmosphere which cause that sparkling effect, I liked it somehow. I also used that effect for one of my other redners: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=6124.0

The graininess doesn't necessarily need to rule. Others have eliminated the graininess in their renders, but it depends on the overall scene settings.

Cool render, except for the grain.

Good idea! I like the image but somehow my gut tells me that something's missing... more ships perhaps? I don't know... $:-\$

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the larger ship "Colonial 1" form the re-imagined Battle-Star Galactica and the two smaller ships Star-Fighters form the Buck Rodgers TV Series? Nice image.

The creator is writing on his website (colacola.se) that the smaller ships are inspired by ships appearing in Bock Rogers. The big one was "inspired by various designs found at conceptships.blogspot.com".

My mistake about the larger ship in you image while the aforementioned ship bears some resemblance to Colonial-One it is not that ship (See this image http://media.battlestarwiki.org/images/4/4c/BSG-Colonial-One.jpg): you can see I hope where I was coming form, in any case my bad.
