I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words .
Doing this was quite a challenge and I'm pleased with how it came out . Producing nebulae in this way and this look is unlike anything I've found before and that was the point, they had to be different but also complement the environments that already existed in the game so as not to seem completely off kilter .
I agree with the comments on the planet, it could have used a lot more work but unfortunately in this case it was a victim of a tight deadline . I am happy with the final look of it despite not quite on par with some of the other excellent users of Terragen, nvseal for example and there's always room for improvement but I wanted to fit the style as much as I could .
Some higher resolution images, minus the ships !

Indeed with the development of the EVE nebulae I spent weeks looking for alternative solutions including the 'bigger' tools such as 3dsmax or Maya but after much R&D, Terragen was the only tool that gave me the quality and diversity I needed without massive storage overheads, even better than Vue .
The perception of Terragen is quite strange and in my experience it is no less a production viable tool than most any other these days . Perhaps it is niche, and less suitable for certain tasks, but that is the point here . Suitability . Using the best suited tool relative to the project or task . And hey Terragen has some big budget use under its belt too, including its birthplace (Stealth) . Could Bryce ever claim that ?
