I love going to Dell and customizing the most expensive computer they sell. I try to get the final price to be over $20,000. I think the most I've been able to do is $11,560.

Waaay overpriced. You can get a Core i7 machine with better specs (aside graphics card and fancy case) for about $900 from Dell...

who needs a fancy case? You look at the screen not at the tower?! I have a picture in my head  of the type of person who buys a case kitted out with neons its not pretty

Oshyan, did you mean from Dell or from Newegg?  The advertisement is from Dell (of course), but didn't they just recently make some deals with Alienware on the business side?

Oh yeah, and I'd bet the ones on Newegg aren't Liquid Cooled.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Dell owns Alienware now. They have a link on the Dell site.

liquid cooling isnt really as great and mighty as it seems, and requires upkeep...  id go thermoelectric cooling, though those babys require a full atx along with decent room for it to fit over the processor.

and newegg does have EVERYTHING as you buy the parts and build it.  they do have liquid cooling sets.

also like a year or two ago dell bought up alienware, so they are one in the same really now, just different cases and price tags ;)

rcallicotte

But, for the same machine, could you get the same parts at NewEgg for the same price?  If so, I'd wonder if it would be worth the time and the lack of warranty.  Time is more precious than money, unless someone has piles of money with nowhere to put it.

I agree with neuspadrin, a friend of mine has one. He hates it. The liquid needs to be 'topped off' about every two weeks. It noisy. He is always worried that a hose will come off, ruining his overly expensive 'dream machine'
