Anyone tried new ASTER DEM data in TG2?

I see that the new higher res ASTER global DEM (GDEM) data is out.  Has anyone tried it?  I have not had time yet and not sure how accessible it is at the moment.  I have heard the servers are pretty slammed but the Japanese ones might be better.
