What happened to the skull of Apache chief Mangas Coloradas is the subject of much speculation. He surrendered under a flag of truce, but was betrayed by us palefaces, brutally tortured and beheaded.

The general terrain is etched out of a Power Fractal using another PF as a Blend by mask. The ruts in the sand are from an Image Map used as displacement.
