very nice 3dGuy...but I thought modifying terrain was not allowed...

5.  No restrictions on sky, clouds, water, additional lights/suns, objects, additional terrains, foliage, surfaces, colors, etc.

And for the record, any and all modifications you see are done with shaders. I added nothing to the terrain tab.

oh man.... >:(

@3D-Guy crisp and clear render. I like it! Mine should be rendered within the next 12 hours.

12 hrs.. whoa.. mine took 36 minutes ;) But I guess the quality of the clouds could use an increase.

Edit: rerendering now, quality slider of the render dialog was still at the default 0.5 :P

Stuck with the free preview, AA doesn't go any higher than 3.

Does anyone know a good software to convert between 3d models

Deep exploration by Right Hemisphere is probably the best with the most formats. http://www.righthemisphere.com

First of all: hi!

I'm new to Terragen (just pre-purchased T2 Deep to bring it into my pipeline...).

Ok, here's my first attempt to make something not too awful....I'm working on it mainly to learn, and this challenge is a good start I think.

I hope to finish the image in two or three days....bye!

Hi,
my 12 hours render took eleven hours - for walking into the bin.
So I made a few adjustements, changed size by about 40%, turned acceleration cache on and went from clouds' quality from 2 to 1. Well this made an 1 hour render  ;D ;D ;D

Regards,
Volker Harun

Those are some interesting clouds.  I'd hate to fly through them as those updrafts look pretty strong!

There is some evidence of some updraft in the aforementioned clouds however what would be of more concern is that there is evidence of strong vertical wind shear with strong frontal development, these are vary dangerous conditions form an aviation safety perspective.

Regards to you.
