I don't know what going on for your population though, sorry to say.

Ah...*cough*...yeah I accidentally forgot to mask the population so it wouldn't cover the entire planet.

can somebody PLEASE tell me whats going on in with population

the circled area should look like the forest on the right side

I should also mention that I do not have any masks applied to the population

it looks the same as the right side, the only difference is the right side is in the shade and isn't showing up as much. almost looks like its has a painted mask  at first glance..

thats my opinion

but what are those black blocks like? on left side??

even if left side isnt in that much shade....there should be any problem like this...
"His blood-terragen level is 99.99%...he is definitely drunk on Terragen!"

king_tiger_666

how is the vegetation done? a surface shader or using obj objects?... how have you restricted the vegetation cover too?.

dhavalmistry

the vegetatin is done via LWO object and the only limitation I applied is distribution shader but thats on right side.....

there are 3 populations in the scene....left, middle, right
"His blood-terragen level is 99.99%...he is definitely drunk on Terragen!"

king_tiger_666

very strange, does terragen render the lwo object alright in other renders?..

dhavalmistry

yes....TG2 renders LWO objects perfectly for me..its just this one...

Finally got around to this. Is the twist and shear shader allowed?

Will

yep it is, nice render by the way.

Will
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Some great stuff so far all!  Thanks for helping make this a great post and keep those images coming.

I changed my first with and a twist and shear shader and I think it came out better.

ProjectX

nice shot nvseal. Try using the redirect shader to put some more detail on that vertical rock face though, you can find a tutorial for it on meltingIces tutorial page.

BTW. My scene is finished, I'm just rendering, it might be up within the week.

nvseal

I've added a redirect shader as ProjectX has suggested.
