*UPDATE: Release thread - http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8343.0*

Hello everyone,
After not having been able to get much done this semester, I'm finally going to call the planet pack done and ready for release. It should come out with the next few days or so after I finish some readmes, documentation, and some file clean-up. I am planning on three categories for release as follows:

~~~Global Surfacing (planet scale only) - consists of three planet surfacing presets (ice/desert/tropical)~~~
~~~Displacement - one planetery discplacement preset, perhaps an "alien" version as well~~~

~~~TGC Presets - a north/south pole tgc that can be included in a scene and one simple global clouds file~~~
I plan on a specific global cloud setup to be released at a later point as its on package.
More to come soon...
Lot of details and realistic coloring. The only thing that seems missing which you may want to add in a later release is stones which may have been to hard to do here, don't know and there are no true sense of mountain chains, just patchy plains hills and valleys. Overall though, there is a lot of nice eye candy here.    :)
freelancah
Very impressive. Glad to see you got the project finally done!
TheBlackHole
Wow. Thanks for all those huge images, now my browser is frozen!
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?
Hello everyone, thanks for the comments. The pack should be out this week, either today or tomorrow.
Hi CCC, the reason there are no stones is that there are roughness artifacts that prevent renders from much less than 200 meters or so above the surface. The cause of these aritfacts, as best I can tell, are the scales of some of the displacements and roughness settings (for example, the continent discpalement has a very large feature scale). I have tried every method I know of to try to eliminate these problems but have had no luck. My only hope is that planetside will be able to address such issues in a future release.
As for the mountains, I agree that there are indeed quite a few patchy spots. While these are things I would like to tune in the future, I'm not going to put off the release anymore.  ;D
If you can provide us some details of the roughness issues you encountered (images and TGDs with appropriately placed cameras to show the issue), we can try to address it.
Also, I thought you might get a kick out of this image I saw a couple years back, which reminded me of one of your examples. With some taller mountains and snow, you'd have a great likeness:
Hi Oshyan, I just sent you an email with a scene displaying the problem. Great image too, I've saved that into my reference library.
