A small concept I have been working on^^
My take on a terragen arch using my own technique though ;)

Wow. The arch looks fantastic - how was it done? And I love the colour of the surfacing - it contrasts beautifully with the background sky and planet. Great stuff!

amazing! What technique have you used, then?

Great concept and colours - amazing displacements - lovely

WOW.  Just plain AWEsome.  Lovin that texture!  Linda

Sweet! It reminds me of something out of Avatar (and I will say no mroe except that it is a movie that should be seen!)

Well done!! like domdib said the color contrasts are really nice.

Great image, I really like the stark contrast and the foggy layer to offset the starkness. I can guess what wetbanana did (perhaps he wants to keep for himself, as I can also understand). But here's my guess: take two crater shaders, and have them lean towards each other with the help of some redirect plus tilt and shear. Then add some displacement, etc. It takes some fiddling to get them to join. If you look closely you can see where they adjoin. I did this a week ago, but abandoned it for the snow thing.

i used what i call terragen metablobs  Basically tiny planets that i surface with colour and displacements then duplicate the nodes
and build a shape up.
its very effective technique and the possibilities are virtually limitless because you literally mold and sculpt your terrains^^.

I used the same technique in these images

Intriguing and inventive methodology using improvised planet objects, and wonderful results.
It would be great if Terragen2 did have its own (meta)balls. Arches would be a doddle, then.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

Great render. Fantastic Technical Idea! 8)

Clever stuff - akin to dandelO's metaclouds.

MacGyver

Great sense of scale! :)
There was a PlayStation game in which you could climb on giants... the terrain reminds me a bit of the body of such a giant ;)
