Hey there, here is my latest render.
This scene was done from an userguide video.

please comment.

from the midground to the back, the grass looks pretty good :)

procedural grass: good for distance, But for closeup better to use ground cover object grass.

Indeed, in the foreground grass models would look better, especially with the new raytracer for objects.
However, I must say I find this really good looking in mid-distance. Perhaps something to look into some time.

I think this may be an answer I have been looking for. I have been wishing for a 'fill' type of grass to use in the distance of my renders. I have been using massive populations, which are not the best solution. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanx, :-)

Yes sure! in the forderground it will look much realistic with models. But i have problems to populate them nice.
In the Front they look pretty but in distance it looks to much.... hope you understand.

The right combination of objects/models/plants and procedural objects/shaders is one of the hardest things to get right.

Hi Mani,
I agree that the mid to distant grass looks great.  Nice shade of green, by the way.

The result especially as mentioned for use in the distance looks very promising! :)
