Hi guys,

I've created a short case study from the rock wall story. I hope it's a more interesting read the way I've put this together, than in the original forum thread.
Nothing new if you already followed the thread, but perhaps a good read for everyone else.

Here's the direct link: http://www.nwdanet.com/terragen-tutorials/45-terragen2-casestudy.html

Note: this is not a tutorial, it's just a case study that demonstrates what can be achieved with Terragen 2's amazing displacement capabilties.

Cheers,
Frank

This really showcases how Terragen 2 can be used. Nice work, and not so long that someone interested will not balk at reading the whole. I would say that adding a tutorial would be a good idea, written or video. I think video would work best. You have a fast computer and this would showcase Terragen 2's speed.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for taking the time to share with the community, I had shown my daughter and she was quite impressed with your scene and so am I.

Hey Frank,

Very well written. Made me smile and look in awe at your achievement.

Inspired me, I did my own version. It needs to be colored and plants added. I fell asleep waiting for a test render, then had to go to work.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I've added a screengrab of the rock wall clip file network to the end of the story. Just a side note, not much so learn from it. It's merely to give non-Terrageneers a view into how such a thing would look like in the GUI.

Cheers,
Frank

A great write-up Frank. This is the best visual demonstration of TG2's procedural power I've seen yet.
