Wow.  Mixed emotions here.  Manhattan has been my playground since I was a kid.  As a teen we would hop a train and run around Times Square till the last train ran. In my twenty's, Saint Patty's Day parades and trips to a museum and a few pints, was a great way to spend the day.  In my thirty's I slowed down on mountain biking and started serious road runs.  Bike New York was an another annual excuse to drive into the city and ride 45 miles or so around all five boroughs (insert your favorite Beastie Boys lyric here).  Now my wife and I make a twice a year venture into Greenwich Village or find a funky hotel and sip martinis or eat foreign food and read the Times like a local.   So be nice to my baby!

Check out Bike New York here: http://www.bikenewyork.org/
PS: I did The Five Burroughs Ride 8 times.  First Sunday every May.   I LOVE NY  -  Bill .
