The theme is "Rock of Ages"...weeladdie or schmeerlap won the first challenge and got to name the theme of the second one.
There are only two or three competitors...don't let TG2 fade away at ReRo....C'mon, you have until 9 March to enter...lets show what TG2 is all about....
Go to the terragen forums and click on TG2 theme challenge...the rules are there. I think its time to show Bryce, MoJo World and Vue landscape artists just what TG2 is capable of....
Thanks
Mark

Doesn't look like too much interest here Mark. It seems RDR is more interested in the girl pictures than good landscape art.

Yes...its mostly a poser site...yet...many good, even great digital artists post there...why not TG2 artists???
Well....thats what I'm talkin bout....time to show these wanna bees.....TG2 is a serious program and is usable by everyone!!!
Lets not roll over...and say hey....its O.K......ITS NOT O.K!!!....show off your TG2 work....LETS GO!!!!  I hate deadbeats who blame everyone else, yet do nothing.
I pledge to persevere...many good art sites do not know the power of TG2....Lets show them.....

I looked at the 'Terragen' challenge at Renderosity to see that only Terragen Classic images are allowed ...so much for the challenge.

Yeah, TG2 is too complex for these poor RDR people who want to generate a landscape in few clicks and get 30+ "WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" comments.

I don't feel any animosity towards the site nor Mark's suggestion; only an observance I made had to be posted.

"Rock of Ages" is a TG2 challenge.
QuoteFinal entries must be done in Terragen Version 2, either registered or unregistered. Entries rendered in Classic Terragen will not be accepted.

There are 3 challenges going on I think - 1. terrain, 2 classic, 3.TG2. Its not really that clear but thats the way I read it

There appears to be bit of obvious snobbery being expressed here, and only closed minds fail to look for the rare visual diamond of artistic interest to be found in any site with such a vast membership/gallery of CG artists as is possessed by Renderosity.  The Planetside product and web page is a true measure of any CG artist's metal to be enjoyed by only the most stout hearted traveler in natural realism recreation, but we shouldn't be just stodgy hidebound purists on an elite island of false pride.

I agree.

There are diamonds to be found in most, if not all, of these type of sites that we digital visual people frequent.

I still won't enter, I've had it with that place and it's sickeningly crawling atmosphere. As have many a number of us here, too.
Plain and simple as that.

If you feel there's snobbery going on in this thread(which I don't actually see myself in this instance), then, Christ, you should've seen the last thread about this same subject!

EDIT: I did try hard not to post in this thread this time. Sorry. That'll be my last word on it.

I remember the last edition of certain members blasting the cupidity/stupidity of Renderosity and it's society of mutual ego strokers, but I would say here and now as before that the glass house thing as always should in this case apply to the greater achiever/site more than to the lesser. Simply casting invective on a group of people who choose a simpler and yes easier path to a possible graphic or pictorial enlightenment/enjoyment will not push TG2 toward any greater public function or market.  Our goal here is to strive for the excellence of the technology we enjoy and create with, not to point out the obvious errors of those who fall down while seeking a small measure of cultural reasurance and self esteem.
