Here is a link to my latest image, it is an experiment in heavy grass and fern groundcover. Still needs some work but I thought I would get some input. :)

I like it, the hills are a bit to moundy for my tasts though.

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

I really like this one, nice use of vegetation :)
Especially like the plants in the foreground/closeup.
Only minor crit from me is the atmosphere, I'd love to see some interesting clouds.
Keep on working on this one, it has great potential!  :)

P.S.: As seen in other renders, from Luc and Olivier for example, TG2 doesn't render plants in the background that nice.
Well, at least to my opinion... They lack definition/sharpness...can't tell exactly what.
Something you can't help, so forget it  ;D

The terrain is the actual DEM for that area no tweaking. It is a small canyon near my house and is pretty close to the real shape of the terrain.

Will

really? wow thats pretty funky.but I guess I've seen mounds like that was well. what canyon do you live near?

It's a canyon that goes from LaCamas Lake down to the Columbia River about 8 miles from the Columbia Gourge. The Columbia River is the border between Washington and Oregon. There is a creek that runs through the canyon but until the water system gets better in TG2 I opted not to put it in the scene.

Will

That must be helpful for refrence material.

Yeah the Pacific NW is full of all kinds of beautiful reference material. :)
