.. in its early stages. I'm posting it now because it may take a while until I can get back to completing this.
There's a funny reflection "artifact" at the shore, I will have to take care of that.
I'm reasonably happy with the cliff and it's texture, but I still need to pay attention to some details and the vegetation.

Cheers,
Frank

Looks very good. I saw the odd reflection. I could not think of what might cause it.

great island, the rock colours are very well done!

choronr

The rock face is looking good.

here is the semi-final version

2400px wide, make sure you zoom in to full size to examine the details. Sorry for the relatively strong compression, I have tried to keep it to a minimum though.

Much prefer the colouring of this rock surface - and beautifully lit.

With more pines this could be the coast of Maine. Nice work with the cracks on the cliff faces. This is coming along very nicely.

Admit it. Where did you take the photos? ;)
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?

This second revision is so much better with the tighter clumps of trees; and, the work on the rock is tweaked to close to perfection. In all, I can hardly wait for the final.

Markal

Superb cliff surfaces and wonderful tree populations....very realistic!

miss that post -_-'
nice rock surface Frank

Hannes

This looks really amazing!
Which trees did you use (I'm looking for this kind of irregular tres for a long time now) and how did you manage to prevent the roots from sticking out of the terrain?

Dune

The roots do stick out of the terrain here and there... but hardly noticable.
