I found this image in my WIP folder.  It was a technique I was working on nearly 2 years ago.  I haven't even looked at the node network since then.  Looks like this one could be made to work.  I can't remember if I ever posted it or not.

I'm pretty sure though, that you used your own GI technique in this one, isn't it?
