Yeah. I think that by installing a graphics card you are disabling the graphics on the APU die,
the GPU part of which could have gone toward more cores. When I built four render farm
units I selected 8-core CPUs (FX-8350) with no integrated graphics knowing that the MB had
a basic graphics subsystem. Cinebench wouldn't evaluate the MB graphics on the FX-8350
system with no graphics card because it lacked the requirements for the test. But these render
correctly for TG. I only added a graphics card to one of them because I wanted to also use that
system to run LW as a support system for a TriCaster. So my main system is pretty low on the
totem pole (left) but the system in the middle represents three other FX-8350 units. The one
on the right is the FX-8350 with a graphics card.
Thanks for the link. It was fun. I just ordered the monitor/keyboard/mouse for my Threadripper.
