Had a few hours left today, so here are some of the latest for 2016. Btw, the titles are nonsense, nothing to do with Iceland.
Happy Newyear, ladies and gentlemen, and see you here in 2017. Keep at it!
They look very nice.
A little bit too smooth for my taste if I may say so.
From the aerial view I could imagine some more intermediate sized stones near the riverbed.
The step from the rounder rocks to the shore is quite abrupt I think.
A Happy New Year to you too!
cheers, Klaus
Nice light on the first. Beautiful calm effect.
Happy Newyears Dune and all!
They are both exquisite Ulco. Your water and shorelines are superb, and the hero tree is spectacular. Both images are indeed lovely works of Art!
Best wishes to all for a great 2017!
Nice tree(s) indeed. :)
Happy New Year to you too and to the whole gang.
Think I've been to those places. Nice work. Happy 2017 to all.
Nice elevation from creek bed to terrain. Someday we should all learn to do this as well as you do. Well done!
Happy New Year to you and yours!

Little different here: Think
I want to go to those places :)
A happy new year! :)
Happy new year to you Ulco and all.
Unfortunately we begun very badly already.
Yes, I just heard. It is so f***g sad, cowardly and pointless. I symphatize with your people Kadri.
Yes :(
Thanks Ulco.
The last one looks nice too.
You could make it like a trapped herd after a storm or so if you like.
Yes, or have a bunch of Neanderthals waiting for them.
That`s what I had in mind, Ulco. And I`d say the lighting is even better than in the first one. Very good!
cheers, Klaus
Yes, Klaus, I listened to you and added some changes. That's comment I like, so thanks.
Your welcome.
Glad you found my remarks useful.
ps: Are those trees and tree trunks made in SpeedTree, btw?
cheers, Klaus
The trees yes, the front trunk is an asset found on the web, can't remember where exactly atm. It's been in the threads earlier.
Looks really cool, Ulco.
I think it was Quixel megascans.

I feel with you and all victims of all the stupid and cowardly attacks! I am very sad to hear news like these again and again!
I hope all will be better... some day!

Thanks and yes it doesn't look soon.
Yes, Quixel, thanks Hannes.

@Kadri....too sad for words...even Canada shares your loss as a Canadian was caught in the blast.

Yes unfortunately :(
now I see these renders....wish I knew how to cut those rivers into the terrain....(yes I'm asking)
veery nice work
I posted some basic river setup quite a while back, but it's basically a warped soft simple shape of say 20mx1000m, which acts as mask for displacement and textures. Color adjusts to adjust hardness, perhaps another broader SSS warped likewise for a valley.
I tried warping a SSS before but it remains a rectangle, cant seem to do nothing with it, either a circle elipse or a rectangle

Didn't I send you a similar setup on a FB msg Ade?
not sure bobby... I just cant get to grips with this ss shader
I just cant bend the dam thing

Wrong warp shader, you need the Fractal Warp at the top of the Transform/Warp shader list. Also you will likely need a Transform shader set to World after the Warp shader to move the river around. That's what Dune taught me. I find working in the top view for setup is best as you can see where the warp is moving the river and move your camera to it or with the warp shader move the river to the camera.
Errh hum... Bobby, I'm afraid that's not quite correct.
ADE - Just add a Vector Displacement Shader between the PF and the Warp Input Shader.
If the SS shaders long side stretches along the Z axis you have to use the X axis multiplier
of the Vdisp shader to warp it.(So x-1;y-0;z-0)
Edit: Didn't see your attachment before I posted Bobby. Sorry.

I made you a new one, Ade. Try this for starters.
thanks for that, very appreciated
