Matt, care to tell us a little more about this "higher quality render mode"  sounds wonderful as I have never been really satisfied with the quality of distant trees.  And no I'm not going to ask: When?  :) I'm sure you will release it when you think the times right.

is this new render mode related to the fix to make high quality objects display correctly and such? How I was having the issue where at higher quality images parts of objects would just not render/look bad.

huh "higher quality render mode", the original quote was hidden away at the bottom of some thread about something else so I bet a lot of people missed it, I know I did. Would love to hear more about this.

Buzzzzz, distant object rendering is definitely one area where it will help. Making objects look more like they're a part of the scene, with better color shifts from distance, and more appropriate detail levels and object element sizing as objects get smaller. You'll also find antialiasing working better on objects. I find AA6 is a good level now, whereas many people are used to going up to 12-16 or even higher to get good vegetation quality.

As usual you'll have to be patient until we can get this to you guys. But it will definitely be worth the wait. :)

... Now I understand why I've those warning when I opened files From T-U and frank... they are a Beta tester ... aren't they ??

Yes, yes they are. Please note however that not all features in alpha versions are intended for short-term public release.

Hmm I'm liking "calculate depth of field", "ray_trace_objects" and "aperture_diameter_in_mm"
Ooh goody, looks like custom cameras and DoF Woo!!
Cant wait but I guess waiting is kinda built in to TG2, lol
better go and render something ... :)
