still WIP but close to finish. This time I wanted to do an outdoor render with Vray for Cinema4D.

Very nice DOF work. The fence looks brand new. I would try putting a image/fractal mask on the sunlight for dappled shadows. Or place a tree for the shadows. This would break up the direct lighting which makes this look cg IMHO.
Edit: I guess you did that. Looked at the inset image on the threads page.
yes, there´s already shadow falling in there,, but because of the low sun angle, the atmosphere/sun lighting ratio almost tends towards atmosphere, so the shadow is not very obvious.

I like the newest render better. It just gave me a flashback to my Grandparents garden in West Bloomfield, NY.
no. 2 gets my vote here...very cool work!
thanks.
Some updates and closeup renderings (better, cropped out of a large render)

a boy will be in the garden..

Can't wait to see more. The #2 image is muted too much for the garden stuff, but it looks like your follow ups are more resilient. The fence looks pretty good.
thanks!

Very good model. Only a couple tweaks and you're done.
after a long pause I managed to work on the last plant I need for the scene. Not yet finished, but getting closer ;-)

Very cool Walli, congrats for the whole scene! :)
thanks!
Someone wanted to know how detailed this shrub is, so I went a bit closer (rendered with vray for Cinema, as the complete scene also will be rendered with vray for Cinema)
Holy good gravy! Where do we get such wonders?
- Oshyan
Looks very good!
That looks simply awesome JW! ;D
Cheers,
Martin
thanks. I will try to port tha shrub to TG too. Unfortunatly at this stage you have to decide between raytracing and displacement, looking forward when that works nicely together.
nice blackberries, me say
Stunning close up! 8)
damn fine juicy little berries...this is going to be super awesome!!
this is a side project of the scene, so even if not directly related I put it in this thread ;-)

I like the second and especially the last one , Walli.
The DOF in the second image could use some work .
But i liked the last one. How did you made the DOF ?
Love the floating seeds in the last one and very nice painterly bokeh!
Great plants Walli, love'em!
Cheers,
Martin
its 3D DOF (like the other renders it is done inside Cinema4D/Vray). This weekend I will render the final version and then I will increase the quality settings, so I hope the noise should be gone then.
Thanks :)
these are great...do you have any plans to replicate these in TG?
it'd be interesting to see...
I love the light, especially in these!
cheers
J
almost all of the "hero" plants in this scene have been available in TG for a long time. And the other stuff will probably show up on NWDA also. In case not, they are available on other stores also, but I won´t link from here ;)
Or did you mean replicate this scene in TG? That might happen, especially with latest alpha.
What were the rendertimes of these last 3 images, roughly?

cheers, yes, the latter....
:)
Nice plants and renders.
Especially the "Pusteblume" is impressive.
thanks. I have done some final changes on that pov and now will hunt for some other viewpoints ;-)

rendertimes - I only now from the last one, it was a bit more then four hours (2560*1440) - but I am pretty sure that one could optimize that.
Well, 4 hours, pretty much worth it if it was up to me!
The de-straightened ;) stem is an improvement, saw that suggestion on CGS.
That bokeh still looks great...damn :)
vray is pretty nice when it comes to speed/quality ratio. I like it a lot, also because it is nicely integrated into Cinema4D and feels almost like an internal renderer.
I like where this scene arrived at, really nice results. Especially the way DoF is handled. Interesting to see the render time is pretty high though. I wonder what it would take to do this in TG. I guess the lighting might not be quite as good, but render time would not be so far off I think. Any plans to try?
- Oshyan
yes, I plan a similar TG scene too, but I guess I need more time ;-)
For now some more renders from that scene:

Beautiful, Walli! :)
real beauty
Love these works Walli, really nice :)
Unbelievable!
perfect.
Very nice :)
Wow, these are really beautiful! Nice job Walli.
I like the one which looks up at the tree. Is that your 'noble one'?
yes, the noble one, just changed the color of the leaves.
by the way - please skip if you don´t like commercials - I usually try to avoid that, but I wanted to let you know that all of those plants are available in the meantime.
Some already have been (and some more will be) at nwda and all of them are available at my own webshop www.silva3d.com - end of ommercial -
