Title: Warping textures (e.g. roads)
Post by: N-drju on March 28, 2015, 04:22:13 PM
Hi guys,

Could you give me some tips on how to warp textures? For example, how to make a texture bend along with the procedural road / path, so that white stripes follow the road curves? I never tried it yet.

Any advice is highly appreciated. :)

There are quite a few threads telling you (almost) all the secrets, and they are worth finding. But the way you warp a road is also used to warp its lines. Just use a narrower simple shape, and a transform merge shader to get them to the road sides. Then take this trhough another warp shader with the same warper settings (vector displacement and fractal). I hope this gets you on your way.
