Title: Windows update?
Post by: archonforest on August 05, 2019, 03:03:53 PM
I am thinking to update my Win 7 PC to Win 10. When I googled what to do I saw that apparently a Win 12 is about to come out? Telling the truth the news about this Win 12 was confusing thus I would like to get your opinion. Is it worth to upgrade to Win 10 or better wait for version 12?

The reason I am thinking about this update is that I heard rumors that Cyberpunk 2077 might work only on Win 10.

Uh... what sites did you see Windows 12 on? Pretty sure that's rumor at best, April Fool's joke at worst: https://windowsreport.com/microsoft-windows-12/ (https://windowsreport.com/microsoft-windows-12/)

In any case if Win 12 *is* coming, it's probably not for a while. In the meantime get Win 10. :D

I would guess the reason Cyberpunk may only work on Win 10 is due to DX12.

This is kinda a troublesome area, as they have recently begun releasing Microsoft games in DX12 for Windows 7, so clearly, for whatever reason they're only utilizing their port with their Microsoft Live thing which is lame.
