Hi,
I have windows 7 on my computer and since yesterday Terragen 2 crashs when it starts. I uninstalled it and installed it several times but the problem stays. Have anyone an idea ?

UnInstall the program again. This time run a Windows Registry Cleaner, like CCleaner (CCcleaner). This should get rid of the old registry file. Now re-install Terragen 2. It should work fine.

Does it gives you an error when it crashes?

If so, can you post a screenshot of it?

This is just a suggestion.

Have you tried Compatibility mode? It may work for your problem.

What you do is Right-click TG2 icon > Properties > Compatibility tab > Enable "Compatible with Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" > Click Ok

Now run TG2 again to see if it fixes the problem.

This maybe, (and I'm guessing), a conflict with your graphics driver. Is there anything which is working in the background that is graphics card hungry?

I have been running Windows 7 for a few months now. The only problems I have found, is when a program wants to 'hog' (read take over) the graphics driver.

A diagnostic approach, would be to identify what program was added after instillation, that caused the problem....

Try loading '-no3dpreview' from the command line as a test.
Just a thought. Formatting is a bit severe...

Oshyan

Agree with dandelO, test without a 3d Preview. It appears that TG2 is loading OK for the most part, but is perhaps crashing when it actually starts to display the GUI and 3D preview, which uses your graphics card more intensively.

Did you make any changes recently to your graphics card driver or hardware? Overclocking or anything?
